The Wayzata Art Festival is an annual Lake Minnetonka event held in June along Lake Street in Wayzata. This year is another three-day event taking place on Friday, June 20, 2025 – Sunday, June 22, 2025. The biggest day is Saturday, June 21, 2025.
It’s a staple of the Wayzata summer scene, right along with the James J. Hill Days festival in early September. I’ve compiled all the essential information at the top, with the details further below.

Where & When
The Wayzata Art Festival runs from Friday, June 20, 2025 to Sunday, June 22, 2025. The biggest day is Saturday, June 21, 2025.
Everything is setup along the shore of Wayzata Bay, in downtown Wayzata along Lake Street. It goes from the intersection of Broadway (by CōV restaurant) down past the old train depot by Manitoba Ave and Barry Ave.
Around the middle of this stretch is typically the drink tent, where you can purchase beer and wine. The artists themselves are setup in booths on both sides of the street, and you can preview them on the official website’s Artist Gallery.

Food & Drink
Drink
The drink tent is typically near the middle of the fair. You’ll show an ID to get a wristband, and then can buy drink tickets to redeem for beer and wine.
I believe they also sell water bottles here, but in past years, there’s typically at least one tent/booth handing out free water bottles, so keep your eyes out for that.
Food
I’ve pulled together a list of all the food trucks attending the Wayzata Art Festival this year. These are usually parked past the drink tent on the western side of Lake Street.
- Agave Express (Mexican)
- Cheeky Chicks (chicken wings, bowls)
- Eggroll Queen (chicken & pork)
- Firehouse Foods (burgers, pub food)
- Muddy Tiger Indian Bistro (Indian)
- Nautical Bowls (acai bowls)
- Northstar Donuts (treats)
- Red’s Savoy Pizza (pizza)
- Rock Elm Rig (burgers, chicken)
- Soul to Soul BBQ (bbq)
- Orange Roaster (sweet corn, potatoes)
- Top Dog (dogs, sausage, burgers)
- Zoe’s Gone Bananas (banana bread)
Kid’s Events & Live Music
The Wayzata Art Festival is certainly kid-friendly if you’re just looking to get out, walk around, see some sights, and grab a bite. But there is a (very small) dedicated spot for kids to create some art for themselves. They call it the “Activity Zone” and it’s free for kids. You can find it near the Ben & Jerry’s if your kids want to take a break from walking and do some painting.
The music stage is one block west of that, off Minnetonka Ave. In the past, it’s typically been solo singer-songwriters performing on a keyboard, not a big band performance.

Boat Light Parade & Sailboat Rides
On Saturday, June 21 at 9:30PM is the Wayzata Yacht Club’s Boat Light Parade. I have young kids, so unfortunately have never stayed late enough to see this.
About 40 boats will “parade” from Wayzata Yacht Club down to Wayzata Beach. So they’ll go past CōV and along the entire waterfront of the festival grounds.
The best spot to watch will be from the Wayzata Lakewalk, which is the walking path that runs from CōV to the old train depot (note that you can’t access the path except from each end, at either CōV or the train depot).
The Wayzata Yacht Club is also hosting free sailboat rides on Sunday, June 22 from 10:00AM – 2:00PM.
