The Cottagewood Dog Show is a quaint, annual event hosted at the park next to the Cottagewood General Store (20280 Cottagewood Ave, Deephaven). This is a perfect event for kids, especially if you own a dog.

It’s very simple. Kids take turns walking their dogs between a panel of “judges” and the crowd. Then, the judges pick some category winners. It’s cute, it’s fun, and it’s a great excuse to get outside. The categories are Best Large Dog, Best Small Dog, Best Dog Trick, Best Dressed Dog (& Handler), Best Dog Tail Wagging, and Best Stuffed / Toy Dog.
When I went last year, they had 1 food truck (pizza), and the ice cream from the Cottagewood General Store was popular too.
The event was hosted by the Village Animal Hospital, and the “judges” were simply some of their veterinarians. They host this event every year, and all proceeds go to the Cottagewood Community Foundation.
