Excelsior: Fanfare for the Commons (July 1, 2025)

A pleasant surprise for 2025 — the Minnesota Orchestra will perform a free concert in Excelsior at the Commons park on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. It’s been over a decade since they last performed this “Fanfare for the Commons.”

The concert will feature a mix of classical and modern orchestral music. The full set list is included below.

Note that this is not part of the Excelsior Rotary Club’s Concerts in the Commons series. This is a standalone event hosted by different sponsors and non-profits, so expect different amenities. If you’re looking for more Lake Minnetonka festivals, see our Events category.

The Excelsior Fanfare for the Commons is on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. The event will be hosted at the Excelsior Commons park. There is no alternative location for a rain-out.

Festivities began at 5:00PM, when small sets of choral music will be performed and the food & drink tents open. The headlining Minnesota Orchestra will perform 7:30PM – 8:30PM.

Plan on bringing your own blankets, lawn chairs, and whatever else you need to be comfortable.

Food & Drink

There will be a Drink Tent with wine, beer, cider, and water for purchase. However, there will be no food trucks. Instead, you can ordered a “boxed dinner,” which they strongly encourage that you pre-order before the event. Check the official website for ordering information.

Coalition restaurant will sell some prepared snacks, and boxed dinners will be available for sale while supplies last.
