Minnetonka: Summer Fest (June 28, 2025)

Minnetonka Summer Fest

Minnetonka Summer Fest is the most kid-friendly festival around Lake Minnetonka. This year it will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025. In my opinion, the biggest downside is that it’s only one day long!

For adults, there is a main music act from 7:00PM – 10:00PM, but everything before that is dedicated to kids (including a musical act).

As usual, the most important information is right here at the top; scroll down for full details and the event calendar. If you’re looking for other Lake Minnetonka festivals, check out the Events category.

Minnetonka Summer Fest: Essentials

  • Minnetonka, MN (Civic Center Park)
  • Kids Activities + Food Trucks + Drink Tent + Live Music + Fireworks
  • Kid & (well-behaved) pet friendly

Where & When

Where

14600 Minnetonka Blvd, Minnetonka, MN 55345

This event is hosted at Minnetonka’s Civic Center Park at 14600 Minnetonka Blvd, which is the same grounds as the Minnetonka city hall, police station, fire department, and community center. It’s right off of Minnetonka Boulevard, just west of Highway 494.

The organizers provided a parking map for the event (below). If you’re coming for the kids activities, you can just pull right into the event grounds. They always have one or two dozen volunteers guiding traffic to help fill in the parking lots efficiently.

Note that the music band shell is at the bottom of a hill, so you’ll be sitting in the grass. Plan on bringing your own blankets and whatever else you need to be comfortable. Since it’s on a hill, you may have trouble setting up lawn chairs.

When

Minnetonka Summer Fest runs from 4:00PM – 10:30PM on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

The Kids Activities run from 4:00PM – 8:00PM, the headliner music begins at 7:00PM, and the Fireworks start at 10:00PM.

Food & Drink

Food

The organizers haven’t published a list of the food trucks, but in the past they’ve been pretty standard fare. Think burgers, chicken sandwiches, some BBQ, probably pizza, and one or two sweets like popcorn, cotton candy, and ice cream.

I’ve taken the family to Minnetonka Summer Fest the last two years, and each time the lines for food are long. So either prepare some picnic food before going, or plan for one member of your party to either get the food early or wait in line to place orders for everyone.

Drink

The local Rotary Club will be running the beer and wine booths. Like other events, you show your ID at one table, get a wristband, and then order at another table.

I can’t recall exactly, but I’m pretty sure you purchase tickets that you then redeem for drinks. The major choke point in the past has been the ID check and ticket booth, not the drink station itself. So if you know you’ll be there for a few hours, just get your wristband early and a handful of drink tickets.

Kids Activities

My kids are still too young to participate, but if you have school-aged or early teenagers (6 – 15 years old), they’ll go nuts here. The lineup looks about the same as previous years — some artsy stations and a bunch of sporting challenges.

The Kids music act is Koo Koo and they play from 5:45PM – 6:30PM. They’re a local act that you’ll see if you go to enough of the kid-friendly festivals around Minnesota.

The scheduled Kids Activities are:

  • Caricatures
  • Airbrush tattoos
  • Wacky hair
  • Arts & crafts
  • Llamas!
  • Bungee trampolines
  • Human fooseball
  • Sports challenge
  • Ninja rig
  • Climbing wall
  • Sensory tent

Live Music

The headliner band is Bluewater Kings Band. They play with anywhere from 3 – 14 musicians and perform classic & pop songs (think Earth, Wind, and Fire + Whitney Houston + Taylor Swift).

They start at 7:00PM and will be play until the fireworks at 10:00PM.
