There’s one thing Lake Minnetonka residents and visitors alike can agree on: there are never enough true dockside restaurants. While the area is dotted with excellent dining options and scenic lake views, only a few allow you to tie up your boat and step directly into a dining experience. That’s where Cabana Anna’s steps in, bringing something both new and nostalgic to the Spring Park shoreline.
Located within the newly opened Shoreline Hotel—the first hotel on Lake Minnetonka in over 100 years—Cabana Anna’s brings modern lakeside charm with a nostalgic twist. The hotel itself spans 24,000 square feet and includes around two dozen guest units. It officially opened its doors on May 1, 2025, marking a significant milestone for lakeside hospitality in the region.
You’ll find Cabana Anna’s and the Shoreline Hotel at 4165 Shoreline Drive, Spring Park, MN 55384. The location is notable, sitting directly next to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Water Patrol Headquarters. That makes it both accessible by boat and convenient for anyone driving along County Road 15.

You’ll find them both at 4165 Shoreline Dr., Spring Park, MN 55384, right next to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Water Patrol Headquarters on the south side of Co. Rd. 15.
Cabana Anna’s Review in Nine Words
Though I haven’t had a chance to dine there yet myself, I spoke to a friend who recently stopped by for a pastry and coffee. His nine-word review?
Donut good. View spectacular. Met the owners. Nice people.
Short and sweet—literally. He tried one of their homemade donuts, which is one of Cabana Anna’s featured breakfast items. According to him, they’re not only made in-house but among the best he’s had in the area.

Cabana Anna’s Menu
One of the most distinctive features of Cabana Anna’s is that they serve breakfast directly on the lake. That’s a rarity. Most lakeside restaurants in the area open for lunch or dinner, and while some offer brunch menus, few cater specifically to the breakfast crowd.
If you’ve ever boated around the lake early in the morning hoping for a hearty breakfast with a view, you’ve probably ended up docking in Wayzata and walking a few blocks to Grocer’s Table, Benedict’s, or a nearby coffee shop. Cabana Anna’s eliminates the extra steps—dock, dine, and enjoy the water view all at once.

A Tough Market
Opening a new restaurant on Lake Minnetonka is not for the faint of heart. Commercial lakefront real estate is expensive and competitive. Restaurants, shops, and studios come and go frequently, often struggling with seasonality, high rents, and unpredictable traffic patterns.
Spring Park, in particular, doesn’t have the same density as towns on the eastern side of the lake like Excelsior or Wayzata. As you move westward, the lake communities get quieter, with less foot traffic and fewer high-volume destinations. That means any new business needs to offer something compelling to survive.
Cabana Anna’s, tied to the newly built Shoreline Hotel, may have the advantage of both hotel guests and a fresh buzz around the property. But the restaurant will need to maintain high quality and local loyalty if it hopes to thrive year-round.

A Welcome Addition
Cabana Anna’s feels like a welcome addition to Lake Minnetonka’s culinary landscape. It’s refreshing to see a business offering something truly different—like early morning coffee and donuts enjoyed while watching the lake wake up—or a relaxed dinner at sunset with your boat tied just a few feet away.
We’re planning a visit soon and will offer a full firsthand review. But in the meantime, if you find yourself near Spring Park or out on the water, consider giving Cabana Anna’s a try. Let us know what you think, and help support a new local business that’s working to make lakeside dining better for everyone.
